Black Ops 2 Wonder Weapons

Wonder Weapons — Zombies · Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Wonder weapons are the game-changing special guns of Black Ops II Zombies — some pulled from the Mystery Box, others assembled from parts scattered across the map. They range from the series-staple Ray Gun and its Mark II to map-exclusive tools like the Jet Gun on TranZit, the Sliquifier on Die Rise, the Blundergat on Mob of the Dead, the Paralyzer on Buried and the four Elemental Staffs on Origins. This page lists every wonder weapon with its map, effect and how to obtain it, followed by the buildable equipment you construct from parts at a workbench.

Wonder weapons

WeaponMapEffectHow to obtain
Ray Gun All Black Ops II Zombies maps (Nuketown Zombies, TranZit, Die Rise, Mob of the Dead, Buried, Origins) via Mystery Box Fires explosive energy projectiles with splash damage; one-shot kills to roughly round 18-22 (22-25 upgraded) and can hit multiple zombies at once, but the splash can also injure/kill the shooter at close range Random draw from the Mystery Box
Ray Gun Mark II All Black Ops II Zombies maps; introduced alongside the Buried DLC Fires 3-round bursts with no splash damage but very high penetration (kills many zombies in a line); ~21.7x headshot multiplier, dealing about 50,000 damage unupgraded Mystery Box; normal odds in Buried, but roughly 1/3 the usual odds on other maps (rare)
Jet Gun (Thrustodyne Aeronautics Model 23) TranZit Vacuum/thrust weapon that sucks in and instantly kills zombies directly in front of it; overheats and breaks after ~15 seconds of continuous use (left dial fills to the red), scattering its four parts around the user Buildable — assemble the four parts at the workbench inside the Town bar
Sliquifier Die Rise Fires a purple liquid that makes zombies explode on contact and leaves slippery puddles both players and zombies slip on; the blast chains between zombies, potentially wiping out an entire group in one shot Buildable — collect four parts located around the workbench directly beneath the power room
Paralyzer Buried Beam that slows then fully incapacitates zombies in a conical spray before killing them (they eventually explode); fired downward while jumping, it propels the player into the air to float/reach rooftops. Unlimited ammo but overheats at meter value 115 and must cool to ~100 before reuse Random from the Mystery Box (only one player may hold it at a time)
Staff of Ice (Ull's Arrow) Origins Shoots blasts of ice that slow, then freeze and shatter zombies (comparable to the Winter's Howl) Buildable — gather three staff parts plus its elemental crystal (from the Crazy Place), the gramophone and the correct colored record; assemble on its pedestal at the lowest level of the Excavation Site, then complete a Crazy Place puzzle to upgrade
Staff of Fire (Kagutsuchi's Blood) Origins Launches explosive fireballs; the upgraded version has a bigger blast radius and vaporizes zombies hit at point-blank range Buildable — collect three staff parts plus its elemental crystal (Crazy Place), the gramophone and correct record; assemble on its pedestal at the lower Excavation Site, then upgrade via the Crazy Place
Staff of Lightning (Kimat's Bite) Origins Fires bolts of lightning that chain and kill multiple zombies (about 2-3 per bolt), similar to the Wunderwaffe DG-2 Buildable — collect three staff parts plus the elemental gem (found in the Crazy Place, accessed with the gramophone and purple record); assemble on its pedestal at the lower Excavation Site, then upgrade via the Crazy Place
Staff of Wind (Boreas' Fury) Origins Blast of wind that throws zombies away; the upgraded version has more range, a wider area of effect, and can be charged by holding the fire button for a stronger shot at higher ammo cost Buildable — collect three staff parts plus its elemental crystal (Crazy Place), the gramophone and correct record; assemble on its pedestal at the lower Excavation Site, then upgrade via the Crazy Place
Blundergat Mob of the Dead Powerful super-shotgun firing a high-damage spread Mystery Box, or obtained free by using Hell's Retriever to collect the five hidden skulls around the map

Buildables

Buildable equipment is assembled from parts found around each map and put together at a workbench. Some are wonder weapons in their own right; others are traps and support tools.

BuildableMapPartsEffect
Turbine TranZit, Buried Mannequin, Fan, Tail Portable power source: opens powered doors, activates Perk-a-Cola machines and the Pack-a-Punch, restarts the bus after an EMP, and powers other buildables such as the Turret, Electric Trap and Subsurface Resonator
Turret TranZit Lawn mower, unusable RPD, and ammo bag (all found at the Farm); built at the table on the lower floor of the farmhouse Placeable automatic turret (~600 rounds) that shreds zombies; requires a Turbine for power
Zombie Shield TranZit, Mob of the Dead, Origins (later also BO3 Zetsubou No Shima) TranZit: handcart/dolly + car door (around the Diner). Mob of the Dead: three parts (the only version without a dolly). Origins: steel plates + bulletproof glass (three parts across the map) Carriable shield that blocks all damage from the front (when held) or back (when stored); has limited durability, breaks, and must be rebuilt at the workbench
Trample Steam Die Rise, Buried Die Rise: four parts in the starting room / adjacent room. Buried: Flag, Motor, Chicken Wire, Bellows (all in the General Store) Placed spring trap that flings any zombie, Jumping Jack or player that steps on it; zombies and Jacks die instantly, while players can be launched across gaps between buildings
Subsurface Resonator Buried Wheel (roulette disk), Speaker, Base/Mount, and Mechanism/Motor — all found in the General Store Requires a Turbine; emits a sonic blast that kills nearby zombies (and distorts the screen) while knocking back more distant ones — effectively a portable Thundergun
Head Chopper Buried Crank, Hinge, Saw, Stand (all found in the General Store) Placed spinning-blade trap that decapitates zombies passing through it
Electric Trap TranZit Battery, Rod, and Base (Tesla ball) — located in the room above the Power Switch, near the Tombstone Soda machine; built at the workbench by the stairs Requires a Turbine; electrocutes and instantly kills zombies that pass through it until about round 55; ineffective against the Avogadro
Sliquifier (buildable parts) Die Rise Four parts located around the workbench directly beneath the power room Assembles the Sliquifier buildable wonder weapon (see the 'sliquifier' wonder-weapon entry for its firing effect)
Golden Shovel Origins N/A — an upgrade of the shovel, not a parts-assembled buildable Gives a higher chance of Perk power-ups from digs, lets you buy a 5th (and further) perk, and digs up better/exclusive loot — powerful weapons, empty perk bottles, and the Golden Helmet (which protects the player from being downed by the Giant Robots' foot stomps)
Maxis Drone Origins Three parts — Maxis' Brain (in the Generator Station 1 lab), a Base (near the Church, multiple possible spots), and a Body/propeller section (multiple possible locations) Flying support drone that attacks nearby zombies for the player; can be picked up and used as a portable machine gun
